With the impending release of The Incredibles 2, we decided it was finally time to go looking for sins in the last Brad Bird Pixar film, Ratatouille. It's about a rat chef, but it's also really excellent, but also full of sins.

    Thursday: Animated sins.

Remember, no movie is without sin! Which movie's sins should we expose next?!

It does affect the overall story of the movie, the love story, bc it makes collette come back and also help him when he confesses about the rat

As a rat owner I can say rats are pretty clean animals and they really care about their own hygiene. Street rats mostly spread diseases because they take too long to die because of the sickness. Also they could probably vaccinate and clean the rats working on the new restaurant.

Angela Tier, i agree, but in a way, it’s also kinda funny! I like this! I still argue about some points in my head, but overall this is hilarious!!!!! It doesn’t really make ME hate the movie, so it’s ok 👍

I found that this movie had such a beautiful story of the protagonist not fitting into the norm like the rest of his family and becoming something that was thought of as blasphemy. Remy showed us that you can become something that isn't what "you" should be. Its quite sweet. Then Pixar had the setting in Paris which also has a huge rat problem and the characters fit each role perfectly. I really loved this movie as a kid and I think that so many people can relate to a character in this story.

It’s a sin that a single elderly woman would have saffron in her kitchen... SAFFRON, OF ALL SPICES

Also, Infinite ammo shotgun until convenient for the plot to show that it isn’t actually infinite ammo.

Commis are apprentices/trainers, they are not “very important” when compared to Chef de Partie or Sous

I don’t care how good of a cook you are, if you make something so nauseating you can’t save it with a few herbs and seasonings

In high end restaurants a sous would not bother saying “Special order” since it’s excessive. They would just give an actual count and just say “Special”. Saves a lot of time

Linguine only started some kind of relationship because he kissed Colette, and there is no way Colette could build feelings for a dude like him just by showing him around.

Why does Remy start getting offended when he gives Colette and genes his reason as to his success. Surely Remy has to know why Linguine can’t say the real reason

If you put a rat inside one of those HIGH PRESSURIZED dishwasher, they would surely die or at least be under serious discomfort. It’s not like a sauna as depicted, it’s like being drowned in boiling water

Why would people go a restaurant that was closed down due to rat infestations, and why would the health Dept allow such a place to open with a logo and name like “ratatouille”?

Where the FOOK is this kitchen’s dishwasher? There’s absolutely no way you can tell me the cooks do their own dishes. Anyone who works in a restaurant can confirm that it would be impossible to have enough dishes and pans to only clean everything after a service

                                        DO. NOT. TAKE. SOMEONE’S. MISE!!!

Especially because on paper the whole idea is a rat pulling a guys hair to take over his motor skills so he can cook good.

And yeah I know I’m not the first or last to make that point.
